Are you sure of Heaven

Isn’t it nice to be sure of some things in life?  In case of an auto accident we are sure to be covered because of the car insurance that we possess.  When we wake up in the morning we are sure to know that the sun is in the sky, even though at times we cannot see it because of the clouds.  We are sure of the way to work.  We are sure of our talents, abilities, and especially our treasure.  There are numerous aspects of our lives that we are sure of.  But what about the most important part of our life?  What about eternal life?  What about being sure of Heaven?

We do know that before one can be sure that he is going to heaven that he must believe that there is such a place.  Well my friend, wonder no more if such a place exist.    John 14:1-2 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  The only question now is exactly who it is that Jesus is building a mansion for?  Is he building a mansion for everyone?  For just a few?  For only a certain nation?

We do know from Scriptures that Jesus came to earth to seek and to save.  Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.    He did not come to show off his riches, he did not come to show off his power or knowledge, and he did not come to take over the world.  He could have very easily done all three of these.   Jesus Christ came to the earth to seek and to save that which was lost.  He is a seeker of men, women, and children in order that he might find them and save them from their sins and from the consequence of sin which is Hell.  All of us have lost something very precious and important to us before.  Be sure of this, that Jesus, the Son of God, is looking and seeking for you because to Him you are very precious, valuable, and important.

Most of our possessions that have become lost have no idea that they are lost because there is no life inside of them.  Our keys do not cry out to us when we lose them nor does our money.   Dead things do not live and are unaware that they are lost and this is the case with mankind.  It is not until we trust Jesus that we have life inside of us.  Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins.  So, very clearly from the Scriptures, before he quickens us, we are dead men walking and this because of our sins.  Sin perverts, sin violates, sin steals, sin kills, and sin destroys.  Every single one of us has committed sins.  Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.  Just as we have inherited the color of our eyes from our parents and the color of our hair, we have also inherited sin.  Sin has been passed down to every generation since Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden; and the very obvious result of sin is death.  Sin has separated us from God and has taken us away from his fellowship and presence.  Sin is why we are lost and why Jesus is looking for us.

Now we must know the final result of sin, we must know the end of it.   James 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.  God told Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden that if they ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that they would surely die.  There are consequences for every act of disobedience.  Death is the punishment, the consequence of sin, and not only a physical death but also a spiritual death.  Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.  Look also at Revelation 20:14-15 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.  So because of sin there will be a Day of Judgment, and on that Day of Judgment God will open his book of life to see if your name is in the book.  No one will be exempt from these proceedings.  The rich, the poor, the famous, the lonely, the politician, the layman, the clergy, the wise, and the unwise will all be present on this day standing before Jesus Christ sitting on his throne to be judged.  If your name is not in God’s book of life then according to Scripture you will be cast into the lake of fire.  You may be the strongest man, the smartest, and the quickest man alive, but you and I are no match for God and his angels.

Now, God would not have this to be so.  God will probably have a tear coming down his cheek if you are one of those that is cast into the lake of fire because God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that they would turn unto him and live.  Won’t you turn to him?  Won’t you end the searching and seeking for you today by trusting Jesus as your personal Saviour?  Won’t you let him find you?  You are why Jesus came.  You are why Jesus shed his blood on the cross at Calvary.   Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.  End the searching for you today by believing that Jesus died for you, that he rose again the third day, that he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and that He desires to give unto you the gift of eternal life.   Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Once you have received the gift of God then you will know for sure that Heaven will be your home.
